Born and raised in a blue-collar Irish family in Buffalo, she learned the value of hard work early. She watched her mother raise six kids while her father balanced long days in a steel plant with night classes to provide for their family.

Those lessons inspired Kathy to serve — from student organizer at Syracuse to attorney and aide to Senator Moynihan, then public servant on the Hamburg Town Board, as Erie County Clerk, and, in 2011, a proud Democrat elected to Congress.

Now, she’s keeping up the fight and delivering real results, as New York’s first woman Governor.
