Friend,
When I first came to this country from Jamaica as a student in 1958, I came with a dream — one shared by millions of immigrants then and now: to work hard, raise a family, and make a life in America with dignity.
Now, decades later, I watch my daughter, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, carry that dream into the halls of Congress. And I’ve never been prouder.
But I also know the stakes have never been higher.
Donald Trump and his Republican allies have made it crystal clear: They plan to gut Medicaid and Medicare, all while terrorizing our communities with ICE raids against hardworking immigrants without criminal records. The cruelty is the point, friend.
These are the exact kinds of injustices I fought against when I served on the New York City Council – I led campaigns for citizenship, expanded childcare, and defended the Caribbean and immigrant families in our beloved Brooklyn.
And now, Yvette is carrying that same fight forward – only this time, as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, with the full force of Congress behind her. But she can’t do it alone.
Can you donate before Monday’s critical end-of-quarter FEC deadline to help Yvette fight back against Trump’s anti-immigrant, anti-Black agenda? [[link removed]]

Let me be clear: This isn’t just a political fight, it’s a moral one.
Friend, as her mother, I raised Yvette to speak truth to power because as a lifelong public servant, I know what it means to be counted on. Today, I’m asking you to stand beside her in this fight.
We’re just days away from a public FEC filing deadline, and the press, pundits, and opposition will be watching Yvette’s numbers closely. So, let’s show that Yvette still has strong support in Brooklyn and across the country! Chip in today >> [[link removed]]
