Over the weekend, Donald Trump once again abused his power as president,
this time by issuing strikes on Iran without Congressional approval.

Presidents don’t have the power to declare war — that authority belongs to
Congress, as outlined in the Constitution. Of course, that didn’t stop
Trump.
Not only is Trump breaking the law, but he’s escalating conflict and
trying to send us into another deadly, endless war in the Middle East
using the same unproven talking points the Bush administration used to
justify the war in Iraq.
We can’t sit back and let this happen,
John. Congress has the power to stop this by
voting for a War Powers Resolution, which a bipartisan group of
legislators has already introduced — but it needs more support.
