Happy Juneteenth, John.

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate freedom, culture, and progress. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It’s also a call to action for all of us to come together, and honor and continue the work of those before us who fought for Black lives, Black voices, and Black votes.

Right now as our country goes through a major awakening around systemic racism, take a moment to watch and share our Juneteenth video to see a glimpse into the fight for voting rights throughout America’s history.

My family commemorates Juneteenth as a day to celebrate how far Black people have come, and a reminder of how justice and freedom have been delayed for Black people in America. For the Lamberts, it has always been a day to bring our community together and get folks to take action in our political process.

Many Americans will mobilize today and this weekend to make their voices heard. It’s our duty to continue the example set by past generations, using our voices as powerfully at the ballot box as we do in the streets during protests.

To create change, we have to raise awareness, organize, vote, and continue to hold our elected officials accountable in office.
