This weekly digest is a method to communicate updates, initiatives and policy changes from the Aging and Adult Services Division (AASD) and Disability Services Division (DSD) in a simplified way. We send this announcement every week on Tuesdays.

Joint AASD/DSD messages

Remote CFSS annual assessments approved by CMS [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Lead agencies (counties, tribal nations and managed care organizations)
* *Effective date:* July 1, 2025
* *Summary:* Effective July 1, 2025, lead agencies may substitute remote annual assessments conducted by interactive video or telephone for two consecutive in-person CFSS assessments followed by an in-person assessment in the third year.

 

CFSS implementation updates [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* People who receive personal care assistance (PCA), Consumer Support Grant (CSG) and CFSS services, families, providers, lead agencies and other interested parties
* *Summary:* DHS began the transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS on Oct. 1, 2024. We will provide regular updates throughout the transition.





DSD messages

Reminder: ICF/DD LSNPs due June 30, 2025 [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Lead agency supervisors who oversee services for people with developmental disabilities and related conditions
* *Deadline:* June 30, 2025
* *Summary:* Lead agencies must submit their LSNP to DHS by June 30, 2025.





Training and event information

Webinar announcement: DWRS Cost Reporting Demonstration and Q&A – Residential Service Providers  [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Cost report preparers for residential service providers
* *Event date:* July 16, 2025
* *Summary:* The DWRS Cost Reporting Team will host a demonstration and Q&A session about DWRS cost reporting for residential service providers.

 

Webinar announcement: MnCHOICES Initial Assessment Review – Overview and Q&A [ [link removed] ]

* *Audience:* Lead agency staff, including MnCHOICES mentors, certified assessors, case managers and care coordinators
* *Event date:* Aug. 5, 2025
* *Summary:* DHS will host a webinar about the MnCHOICES initial assessment review implementation. We will go over basic implementation information and answer pre-submitted questions.
