Hi there,

Vote Forward volunteers haven't just been writing letters—this community has been on the frontlines of a national experiment to improve how we reach voters, boost turnout, and ultimately win elections that matter most to democracy.

In 2024, Vote Forward ran over 50 individual letter campaigns. With the help of over 78,000 volunteers, we wrote 9.75 million letters. Behind the scenes, every campaign was structured as a randomized controlled trial so that we could scientifically measure our impact on voter turnout after the election.

[Today, Vote Forward is releasing the results of our 2024 voter engagement campaigns—and announcing an exciting multi-year program to test new, innovative voter contact tactics.]([link removed])

Overall, the results show that letter writing still is an effective way to drive voter turnout, but we also need to be increasingly strategic in how and when we use it, and who we’re trying to reach.

What’s more, the old voter mobilization playbook isn’t working like it used to in our new political, media, and cultural landscape. We need to keep innovating on new tactics beyond letter writing to effectively reach voters.

[You can read more about that in a new piece in The Atlantic today on how Vote Forward is pushing this important conversation forward by leading with transparency.]([link removed])

Our 2024 results show that if we want to make a real impact in 2026 and 2028, we can’t just copy and paste what we did in 2020. This moment demands creativity. It’s time to get bolder and place big bets—and that’s exactly where we’re headed.

Join us tonight at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT to hear directly from Vote Forward Executive Director Yasmin Radjy and Senior Director of Data & Research Emily Wasserman about how we’re building on what we know and innovating for future success:

Finding what works—and what doesn’t—is how we’ll win important elections now and in the future. As part of our volunteer community, you will be able to join us in a series of cutting-edge campaigns to run strategic experiments that identify new, high-impact tactics for the midterms and ultimately the 2028 presidential election.

You’ll be hearing more from us very soon about how you can help test a new letter-writing tactic by participating in our campaign to contact voters in the Pennsylvania state supreme court election this November.

[If you want to be among the first to learn about this new tactic and more, we hope you’ll join us tonight.]([link removed])

Together, we can lead the frontlines of what comes next. We can be part of the solution.
