We warned Republicans that the “one big beautiful bill” would cost lives. But a report confirms the human toll will be staggering.
If we don’t stop the Republican budget bill, a new study from Yale and the University of Pennsylvania [[link removed]] found 51,000 Americans will die every year from lost healthcare coverage and food aid and even lower nursing home standards.
These aren’t data points – they’re lives. And every one worth fighting for.
My Senate colleague, Joni Ernst, recently pointed out that death is inevitable. But this bill would actively expedite it, especially for seniors, low-income families and other vulnerable groups.
