Pay Transparency is now the law in New Jersey! The *New Jersey pay and benefits transparency law [ [link removed] ] *went into effect June 1, 2025 – know your rights!

The new law changes job posting requirements for most employers in New Jersey:

* Job seekers and workers will now have the right to know about the pay, benefits, and other compensation programs that an employer is offering in their postings for new jobs and transfer opportunities.
* Employers will now have to provide this information in their postings for new jobs and transfer opportunities.
* Employers must also make reasonable efforts to ensure all current employees in affected departments are aware of promotional opportunities.
* The law covers job postings in any format, including job search websites, print advertisements, company newsletters, emails, social media and more.

Pay Transparency helps job seekers know if employers compensate fairly. It also helps current workers know if they are being compensated fairly compared to other workers doing the same or similar jobs.
