Support the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights

Dear John,

As we observe Pride Month this year, we must do so recognizing that so much of the historic progress that’s been made in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights is now under threat.

From the White House to state legislatures to local school boards, anti-equality politicians and their activist supporters are targeting the LGBTQIA+ community with laws and policies aimed at pushing people back into the closet and out of American public life.

NOW is not letting this stand. Through our grassroots equality movement, we’re fighting back at the local, state, and national levels. But we need generous supporters like you to help ensure that we can keep putting up the strongest defense possible for LGBTQIA+ rights.

In honor of Pride Month, can we count on you to make a gift of $25, $50, or more to NOW today? Your gift will help fuel our teams across the country as they organize and advocate for a more just and equal future for all.

Defending LGBTQIA+ rights is one of our organization’s core issues because fighting for women means all women, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, and there is no true equality without every individual’s full humanity being respected.

To move America toward the more equitable future we seek, NOW is:

* Fighting to end attacks on transgender athletes: NOW opposes any legislation that seeks to limit the rights of transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people, including the right to participate in school athletics. The real threat to female athletics does not come from transgender athletes playing the sports they love with the gender they identify with. It comes by way of discriminatory barriers, including sexual harassment and abuse; inadequate funding; second-class treatment facilities, travel, and equipment; and equal pay for women athletes.

* Defending Title IX protections: Title IX ensures that all students have equal access to educational opportunities, regardless of gender, including the rights of transgender and intersex students. We are fighting to hold the line on the expansions the Biden administration made to Title IX to ensure that all young people feel safe and supported at school.

* Standing up against hate crimes: NOW stands firmly with the LGBTQIA+ community in light of an uptick in violent attacks and hate crimes. We must strengthen protections and call on law enforcement to address the rise in unconscionable hate-based violence.

In today’s political climate, this work is not easy. But our movement can make progress if we work together as a united front.

This Pride Month, we have so much to fight for.
Please support NOW in the work of making America a more just nation for all with as generous a gift as you are able today.
