The fight for climate justice takes all of us, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without Street Roots ([link removed]) and 350PDX ([link removed]) . These two essential grassroots institutions have been on the frontlines in Portland to bring us, respectively, the facts that empower our community and the organizing chops to make change.

Time and again, 350PDX has been a powerhouse partner in organizing grassroots resistance against Zenith, mobilizing hundreds of Portlanders ([link removed]) to show up, speak out, and fight back. Street Roots plays a pivotal role in holding Zenith Energy and City officials accountable in the press ([link removed]) . Journalists there broke the story about the backroom deal ([link removed]) between Portland officials and Zenith Energy, and have continued to expose their secretive plans to public scrutiny. In a public hearing earlier this year, Portland City Councilor Mitch Green said that his knowledge about issues related to Zenith came primarily from Street Roots’ incredible reporting.

This is what true movement collaboration looks like. And right now, both of these organizations urgently need our collective support to keep going strong.
