John, my path to becoming a State Senator and candidate for Virginia’s Lt. Governor isn’t your usual story.
I grew up in Virginia Beach in low-income housing. My mom raised us on our own, and I started working when I was ten to help my family make ends meet. I never slowed down and after graduating from Virginia Tech, was drafted in 2007 to play in the NFL for the Packers. That moment changed the course of my life forever.
