Our new tool, Indiana’s Jake Laird Law Implementation Guide [[link removed]] , offers a step-by-step for state implementers to understand the nuances of Indiana’s Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) law. The Jake Laird Law (JLL) is Indiana’s version of an ERPO, or red flag law, named after a police officer who was shot and killed while responding to a call of a man walking in a neighborhood openly with a rifle in 2004. Why I Give
“ I give because of what gun violence does to a family and a community. Gun violence should not be accepted as the norm, and yet so many families continue to experience tragic loss at the hands of those who have access to firearms. ”
