Breaking news:

Early this morning, House Republicans passed Donald Trump’s so-called “big
beautiful” tax bill by a single vote, but there’s nothing beautiful about
what they just did.

This heinous bill includes the largest cut to Medicaid and the largest cut
to food assistance in American history. These are life-and-death programs
for millions of Americans, and Republicans voted to gut them so they could
give tax breaks to billionaires.

That’s why I stood on the House floor at 2 AM to stop these cuts, and it’s
why I voted no.

Because this is personal.

It’s personal for my constituent Caroline, who told me that “without
Medicaid, I will die.” It’s personal for the families in Delaware and
across the country that rely on SNAP to feed their kids.

Make no mistake: this fight is NOT over. Now this bill moves to the
Senate, and the outcome will depend on how loudly and clearly we speak up
right now.
