This heinous bill includes the largest cut to Medicaid and the largest cut to food assistance in American history. These are life-and-death programs for millions of Americans, and Republicans voted to gut them so they could give tax breaks to billionaires.
That’s why I stood on the House floor at 2 AM to stop these cuts, and it’s why I voted no.
Because this is personal.
It’s personal for my constituent Caroline, who told me that “without Medicaid, I will die.” It’s personal for the families in Delaware and across the country that rely on SNAP to feed their kids.
