John, at a time when so many things pull us apart,
parks bring us together.
That's the finding of our 14th annual ParkScore index, released
today. The data show that residents of cities with the highest-ranked
park systems are healthier and more socially connected than those in
cities with lower rankings. This year, we measured the 100 most
populous U.S. cities in five categories: access, investment,
amenities, acreage, and equity.

Using the information from our ParkScore index, we study access
block-by-block, pinpoint areas where new parks are needed most, and
work with local leaders to improve existing parks. With your support,
we can break down barriers to park access and create opportunities for
people to engage with nature-and each other.
