Dear all,

This week, the Pittsfield City Council has been deliberating on the budget
for FY 2021. They have proposed leveling funding for schools, while
increasing funding for the police. Measured since 2016, this would entail a
2% reduction in spending per student and a 20% increase in spending per
police officer. We have drafted a petition
<[link removed]>
to demand that the City Council reorient their priorities. With chapter
approval, we will release the petition as soon as possible. Please let us
know in the next 24 hours if you oppose the petition or want to suggest
edits/revisions.

Also, please mark your calendars! Next Thursday (6/18) at 7p on Zoom is our
next monthly meeting. Here's the Zoom link
<[link removed]>, and password (C2VaVVpZ).

In solidarity,
Sid
