** March for Life 2025: Full of Passion, Purpose, and Positivity!

Last Monday’s March for Life was another inspiring demonstration of conviction and purpose. What made it especially meaningful was that it’s not an election year - and yet pro-life supporters showed up in their droves. It speaks volumes about the enduring commitment of pro-life people across Ireland and how they see the importance of taking a very public stand at least once a year in defence of mothers and their unborn babies.

A particular highlight of the march was seeing the incredible turnout of young people. They brought a joyful energy, with their signs, songs, and enthusiasm lighting up the event. They are the heartbeat of this cause moving forward, and seeing their numbers and passion was truly encouraging.

It was also great to see the event receive some well-deserved media attention, including TV coverage on the RTÉ News at 6 and 9pm. The message of the event about the need for the Government to shift the focus from promoting abortion to encouraging alternatives went beyond the streets and reached living rooms across Ireland.

To all who attended, thank you. Your participation wasn’t just a gesture - it was a witness. It was a visible sign of hope, resolve, and love. The movement is strong, and your presence helped make that crystal clear.

A special word of thanks to the two main guest speakers, Ruth O’Sullivan from West Cork and Senator Sarah O’Reilly of Aontú.

“Reckless and indefensible" use of taxpayers' money

From 2019-23, the Government gifted €37,711,250 of Irish taxpayers’ money to the pro- abortion UN Population Fund (UNFPA). The staggering sum was confirmed this week in response to a Parliamentary Question submitted by Cork North Central, Independent Ireland TD, Deputy Ken O’Flynn.

When you add the over €50m spent by the Government on abortion provision in Ireland over the past six years (calculated from earlier replies to Parliamentary Questions) to the latest sums revealed in this week’s reply to Deputy Flynn, close to €100m has been earmarked for abortion related provision over that period of time. And when you consider that the

Government has refused to explicitly set aside even a single cent during the same time period to facilitate the promotion of alternatives to abortion, it tells a very sad story indeed.

Given the latest revelations, we have to double down in demanding more accountability for what’s happening, and in pushing for more openness to discussing how taxpayers’ money is being spent. This is something we are going to pursue with vigour in the coming weeks. It is time for public resources to be deployed to life-saving projects, not life-ending ones.
