In the clearest sign yet that this seat is going to be a must-win for
Democrats next year, Inside Elections, one of the leading race raters,
just listed New Hampshire’s Senate race as a 2026 BATTLEGROUND.

According to the expert analysis, “Democrats can’t rest easy” in the
“fickle and fiercely independent” Granite State. There are multiple signs
that New Hampshire will be close:

* Kamala Harris only defeated Donald Trump by three points in New
Hampshire.
* In 2016 Maggie Hassan beat Republican Kelly Ayotte by a razor-thin .2%
margin.
* Republicans have held the governor’s seat since Chris Sununu first won
in 2016, and they have controlled the state legislature for 11 of the
past 15 years.

Now more than ever, we need to show that we aren’t resting easy. We need
to treat this race like the competitive contest that it is. And that means
we need the resources to run a strong campaign that can withstand whatever
the national Republicans throw our way.
