Dear all,

Next weekend, on Saturday (6/20), there will be a demonstration for Black
Lives Matter in North Adams. Organizers are looking for volunteers. Please
see the below for a number of roles you can fill to support the demo.

In solidarity,
Sid

//

As we get closer to the event we have been busy organizing and reaching
out. At this time I would like to share with you the Volunteer Roles that
we are currently looking to fill. *Please email me
([email protected] <[email protected]>) back if you are
interested in taking up any of these responsibilities. *It will be most
helpful to the organizers if you list them in order of interest (first
choice - last choice) so that we can fill them as balanced as possible.
Responses should be received within 24 hours for quickest consideration.
Thank you!

CURRENT OPENINGS:

*Medics* - First Aid or other Medical Training preferred. Please bring your
own supplies, though if there is an issue with that please let us know and
we can try to facilitate. More information concerning positioning and roles
will follow after the team is completed.

*Documentors *- This role requires full documentation of march/events. A
fully charged cell phone, portable battery, or other recording device is
required. Documentors will stay in designated positions (front of march
line, end of march line, etc.).

*Peacekeepers/Security*- Directing traffic, encouraging people to walk and
not run. Peacekeepers primary focus is on the safety of all participants.
Peacekeepers are prepared to nonviolently intervene in aggressive
situations and to mediate conflicts amongst activists, or between activists
and police, counter-demonstrators, or other parties. *PROOF OF **TRAINING
OR PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN PEACEKEEPING/SECURITY/DE ESCALATION IS REQUIRED!*

*Protectors* - Protectors will be responsible for helping to shield any
children involved in the march from potentially traumatic events.
Protectors will be part of a pair, and are to be outfitted with a bedsheet
that can be held open to act as a visual barrier between children and
counterprotesters if the need arises. Please bring your own sheet.

*Stationary Protestors* - we will need a group of people to protest at a
stationary location during the march so that anyone who cannot or does not
want to join the march can still participate fully.

If you can think of any other way that you would like to volunteer, with
your time, services, or voice, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Thank you for supporting BLACK LIVES MATTER NORTH ADAMS!
