Governor Mills Directs Flags Lowered This Sunday in Honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service [ [link removed] ] 05/03/2025 02:08 PM EDT
In accordance with a [directive from the President](//www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/national-fallen-firefighters-memorial-weekend-2025/), Governor Mills has ordered that the United States and State of Maine flags be lowered to half-staff statewide this Sunday, May 4, 2025 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. The [annual service](//weekend.firehero.org/) honoring firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year will take place on Sunday in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
