Dear John,

Violence against women continues to rise, with pregnant women and members of marginalized populations facing especially high risk, including BIPOC women, immigrants, women living in poverty, homeless women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This violence, harassment, and sexual assault occurs in every area of women’s lives—at home, in school, at work, in the streets, and online. A joint research study conducted by NOW and Incogni found that 1 in 4 American women experience abuse online.

NOW is mobilizing support to combat violence against women in all of its forms. But as always, our success depends on allies like you helping us expand our work and reach.

A major focus of NOW’s work in 2025 is passing legislation that would fully fund and improve the federal Family Violence Protection and Services Act. The Act supports more than 1,500 community-based programs that provide over 1.3 million violence survivors and their children with emergency shelter, counseling, legal assistance, crisis intervention, and more.

NOW is also expanding our grassroots efforts to reform U.S. immigration policies that harm undocumented immigrant women, enact critical measures to reduce gun violence, fight cyberflashing and online sexual harassment, and more.

Achieving our goals will not be easy; we’re up against anti-woman forces that will stop at almost nothing to make women second-class citizens. But I’m confident that even in the toughest of circumstances, the NOW community will make progress if we all give a little more of ourselves to the fight to ensure that every woman and girl can live in safety.

The Feminist Action Network Spring Drive ends soon. Please strengthen your impact and our work by becoming a monthly donor today.
