Women experience significantly lower economic security than men—especially women of color—due to the ongoing gender-race pay gap, a lack of affordable childcare and paid family medical leave, and other factors.

This disparity is driving a growing number of women into poverty and preventing them from fully participating in the economy.

Your monthly giving will be used to help NOW mobilize and create the groundswell of support necessary to pass essential legislation like the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would make it harder for employers to commit gender-based pay discrimination while improving protection and retaliation.

We are also building bipartisan support to strengthen the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, to provide workers with up to 12 weeks of partial income during temporary leave. And NOW is ramping up our efforts to enact more state-paid family leave policies, expand Social Security benefits, raise the federal and state minimum wages, and more.
