The Trump administration is once again launching an assault on Social Security and Medicare.

Under the guise of fighting fraud, they are weaponizing bureaucracy and delay, hurting everyday Americans who rely on these earned benefits. But let’s be clear. . .

This is a solution in search of a problem.

Out of the $1.6 trillion the government distributes each year in Social Security benefits, just 0.00625% is lost to fraud. That’s a minuscule amount. For decades, strong oversight systems have been in place to safeguard these earned benefits—and they work.

The changes being pushed now won't solve real issues—but they will make it harder for people to get the help they need. Instead of investing in customer service or reducing wait times, the Trump team is expanding legal reviews that waste time and resources.

This is not about accountability. It’s about making it harder for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities to access the benefits they’ve paid into and earned.
