<[link removed]> Huge Q1 Fundraising Report The first quarter fundraising deadline has passed and I am proud to announce that we raised more than $800,000 - a monster haul thanks to supporters like you. Washington Democrats are working feverishly to recruit my opponent and this fundraising accomplishment will make it that much harder. Thank you! DONATE <[link removed]> Democrats are Coming for Me This week, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced that I am one of their top targets for 2026… <[link removed]> But that’s not all. Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball <[link removed]> has me listed as one of 13 Republican-held seats that are now “Toss Ups.” The Cook Political Report <[link removed]> moved MI-7 from a +2 Republican seat to “Even.” The progressive House Majority PAC <[link removed]> has named me a top target. DONATE <[link removed]> Getting Things Done for Michigan I am proud to announce that as a first-term Member of Congress, I was chosen to be the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization. As the leader of that committee, I was proud to have my very first bill pass the House this week, the Clear Communication for Veterans Claims Act (H.R. 10 <[link removed]> ). This legislation will require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to make significant improvements to its overly complicated claims process and streamline communications with veterans. This legislation is long overdue. I was also proud to have VA Secretary Doug Collins come to the 7th District and tour two of our local VA clinics, and assuring our veterans that the reforms being implemented by the Trump Administration will make the VA more responsive to their needs with no cuts in benefits. And finally, I was incredibly proud to play a role in securing the release of two Michiganders from a Mexican maximum security prison last week. <[link removed]> DONATE <[link removed]> Paul and Christy Akeo were arrested by Mexican authorities upon arriving in Cancun on March 4th and spent more than four weeks in a maximum security prison over a dispute with a time-share resort. When I learned of their plight, I reached out to the State Department and the White House to begin the process of negotiating their release. Last Wednesday, I flew to Mexico, met with the Akeos in prison, then met with the President of the regional Supreme Court, and then talked with the resort owner. We were able to secure their release and bring them home last Thursday night. This week, Charlie LeDuff invited me on to his podcast to discuss the operation. You can watch it here <[link removed]> . <[link removed]> Again, I want to thank you for all your help and support. We are off to a great start!
