Dear John,

Academic achievement requires hard work and determination. One of the most powerful ways to support kids’ academic focus is through play.

When fifth grader Kimberly joined the Junior Coach Leadership Program, she set a goal to get better at leading games on the playground. Playworks Coach Jahrel guided Kimberly through hours of hands-on learning and practice. Several months later, Kimberly shared “I’ve been getting better and better slowly, and I’m proud of myself for that.”
We want to help more students like Kimberly feel pride from working hard toward a goal. That’s why we're asking you to continue your support this spring and help more kids build confidence through play.
When asked what was her biggest take away as a Junior Coach, Kimberly answered “To never give up and say ‘I can’t do this.’”

Students who participate in Playworks programming learn through play that achievement requires effort and perseverance. And this lesson translates to the classroom.

85% of students who participate in Playworks' Junior Coach Leadership program recently reported a positive change in their academic motivation to succeed in school.

In today’s uncertainty, we don’t yet know what kids in our community will face next. With your help we can ensure more students gain valuable skills through play and achieve their goals both in and out of the classroom. Donate today <[link removed]>.

Play on,
