Academic achievement requires hard work and determination. One of the most powerful ways to support kids’ academic focus is through play.

When fifth grader Kimberly joined the Junior Coach Leadership Program, she set a goal to get better at leading games on the playground. Playworks Coach Jahrel guided Kimberly through hours of hands-on learning and practice. Several months later, Kimberly shared “I’ve been getting better and better slowly, and I’m proud of myself for that.”

When asked what was her biggest take away as a Junior Coach, Kimberly answered “To never give up and say ‘I can’t do this.’”
