International Journal Publishes Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening Recommendations
We celebrate the publication of
recommendations to improve newborn screening for cystic fibrosis across the United States ([link removed]). The recommendations represent a significant milestone of the Foundation's Newborn Screening Initiative, a multi-year effort to advance CF newborn screening and achieve better health outcomes for all babies born with CF.

CF Foundation Responds to Mass Reduction in Force Across the NIH and FDA
This week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services began drastically reducing its workforce across all of its agencies, including the FDA, NIH, CDC, and CMS.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation issued a statement ([link removed])
urging HHS to avoid sudden and sweeping cuts that eliminate essential agency expertise, citing the devastating impact on medical research and development of transformative treatments and a cure for CF.

CF Foundation Invests Up to $2.3 Million to Develop Test for Lung Infections
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has agreed to
invest up to $2.3 million in Owlstone Medical ([link removed])
to fund the development of a breath test designed to detect and monitor Pseudomonas infections in people with CF.
