Last night, voters rejected Musk’s candidate in Wisconsin and closed the margins in Trump-dominated districts in Florida. Now Republicans are attempting to change the rules for future elections by passing a bill to make it harder for people to vote.

Urge your members of Congress to vote NO on the SAVE Act (H.R. 22) and protect voting rights!

John,

Yesterday, voters went to the polls to elect a Supreme Court justice in Wisconsin and for special elections for two congressional seats in Florida.

In Wisconsin, despite tens of millions of dollars spent by Elon Musk (including paying voters directly!), the progressive candidate won. In special elections in Florida, Democrats cut the margins in half in two districts Trump won by 30 or more points.

In the face of these results, Republicans in Congress are now moving at warp speed to advance a bill to make it harder to vote!

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act would require documentary proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, for anyone registering to vote or updating their voter registration. If you’re a rural voter, a married person who changed their last name, or an American citizen, this bill would make it a lot harder to vote.

This is a discriminatory attempt to silence thousands of voter voices with more red tape. Take action to stop this bill by sending an urgent message to your members of Congress.

Stop the SAVE Act!

According to the bill's requirements, government-issued driver's licenses and military or tribal IDs would not be accepted, it would be impossible for a voter to mail in a registration application, and your last name must match the last name on your birth certificate.

The last thing we need is MORE obstacles for people to vote. Call on your members of Congress to vote against the SAVE Act and protect voting rights!

It’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal or state elections, and voters in every state already affirm or verify their citizenship status during registration. The SAVE Act’s push for additional proof of American citizenship only creates another unnecessary barrier to voting.

Protect voting rights!

This bill would disproportionately harm eligible voters who struggle to access vital documents. People of color are three times more likely to lack crucial documents such as birth certificates, passports, or naturalization certificates.

Send a message to your members of Congress today: Vote NO on the SAVE Act!

Thanks for taking action,
