** Solidarity Actions- George Floyd
------------------------------------------------------------
Join us at these George Floyd Solidarity actions this weekend.

As we close out the week where we've seen thousands of people across the country protesting in the streets, the national guard deployed to our city, and continued police brutality we are asking our members to continuing showing your solidarity with George Floyd and all victims of police violence.

Please join us at these events taking place this weekend:

* NCAAP Protest and March: ([link removed]) Saturday, June 6th. 9:30 am- Organized by the NCAAP, this march will begin at Golden 1 center and end at the capitol.
+ Events have been moving quite rapidly, but we thought this Saturday would be a good opportunity to show our solidarity as a contingent. We will be meeting at 9:30 AM at the DOCO sign on the corner of J and 5th St.
* Black Brown Shut It Down Protest: ([link removed]) Sunday, June 7th. 4:00 pm- Starting at Southside Park on 8th St.
+ No formal SacDSA contingent planned, but attendance encouraged!
* Celebration of Life for Brandon Smith: ([link removed]) Saturday, June 6th. 3:00-6:00 pm- Brandon Smith was killed by SacPD on 6/6/2018 while in police custody. Community members will gather to commemorate Brandon's life with BBQ and water balloons.

** Tips for protests and marches:
------------------------------------------------------------
While it doesn't appear there will be any tense standoffs or situations with the police at these marches, we'd like to be as prepared as we can given the current climate.

Some things to consider if you’re planning to attend:
* bring snacks, water, sunblock, and a buddy. Know your limits and tend to your own safety first!
* Ensure someone who is not on the ground with you knows your number, where you are, and your DOB, should anything happen, medical or otherwise.
* Be cautious with who, what, and how you are communicating while at this and any other action (encrypted messaging platforms encouraged). Police have used stingrays (mobile phone data mining technology) in recent actions and SacPD has one of the highest budgets around (for a PD its size) for social media investigation and they do follow up. So please be cognizant of the pictures/videos you take and post and ensure no one’s face (not even yours!) is in them. Here are somemore resources ([link removed]) for how to be prepared.
* Most importantly, center black voices! Any non-black folks, move back and listen to black voices, black organizers, lets center this BLACK MOVEMENT. This is for black liberation!

Other actions
