2. Celebrating World Water Day and Building Safer Communities in Somalia
March 22 was World Water Day! Thanks to generous humanitarians like you, Americares partnered with a local nonprofit in Somalia to support construction of 20 latrines in the village of Al-Xayat, providing 300 people with safe, private and hygienic facilities. For Amina, a mother of six, the new latrines offer peace of mind, as her children no longer face the dangers of having to relieve themselves outside in the bush – risks that include exposure to wildlife and disease. “These latrines are not just toilets,” Amina says. “They are lifesavers, especially for our girls, who now feel safe and protected.”

3. Lifesaving Chemotherapy Medication Delivered to Bolivia for Baby Girl
A baby girl 20 months old, with a rare genetic disorder in Bolivia was given a fighting chance, thanks to the Americares Medical Outreach team and one of our partners, Dr. Richard Wagner, of Global ENT Outreach who reached out urgently for chemotherapy medication to treat the girl’s rare condition. Our team quickly coordinated the delivery of the vital medication, ensuring the girl received the medical care that could save her life.
Dr. Wagner shared his heartfelt gratitude and said, “Without the assistance of Americares … this young girl would not be getting the treatment she needs for her to continue her life.”
This story is one of many made possible through the Americares Medical Outreach program, which supports over 700 medical missions each year, delivering critical care and supplies to those facing health crises. THANK YOU to our generous donors who make these lifesaving efforts possible.

Six months after Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Americares is still supporting affected communities with health care as they recover. So far, we’ve delivered over 17 tons of medicine, deployed a mobile medical unit and provided mental health support for individuals struggling with devastating loss. Through $1.4 million in emergency funding provided to 39 organizations, we’ve helped local clinics rebuild and resume critical services. The news cycle may have moved on, but we remain dedicated to helping people recover and strengthening these impacted communities. With your support, our work continues.
