Last week, I vetoed legislation that would eliminate a three-day grace period for advance mail-in ballots to arrive after Election Day.

The proposal would result in thousands of ballots from lawfully registered voters being thrown in the trash during high-turnout elections. 🗑️

John, I will not sign legislation that deprives Kansans from having their vote counted.

But extremist leaders in the legislature were eager to override the veto, and with a supermajority in both chambers, they were able to push it through.


We need to protect the rights of Kansans, and that starts with electing common-sense representatives who will stand up for us.

The Kansas Democrats are working now to help flip seats, hold the Governor's office, and protect the veto next year, but the impact of their work this early in the game depends on investments and early support from their grassroots coalition.
