As we face the ongoing threats of a Trump administration hostile to immigrants, abortion access, and bodily autonomy—alongside state leaders intent on restricting health care—we remain steadfast in our fight for safe, compassionate care for all people.
Our communities thrive when they can rely on holistic models of care, which is why we are in solidarity with caregivers like midwives, doulas, nurses, and doctors who continue to serve their patients through it all. We will keep showing up for one another and caring for our communities, no matter what.

A midwife in Texas and her team members were arrested in March for allegedly providing abortion care in their communities. PRH Board Chair Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi spoke to The Nation calling this a clear, targeted attack on both abortion care health works and patients as well as immigrant communities.
"Community healthcare workers—from midwives, to doulas, to nurses—are critical to patients in Texas, especially under these draconian abortion bans, and relied on by thousands and thousands of people to deliver safe reproductive care.”
- Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi, Texas Ob/Gyn, PRH Board Chair

Midwife and Colleague Targeted in Texas [[link removed]]
Lupe M. Rodríguez, Executive Director of National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, Jamarah Amani, Executive Director of Southern Birth Justice Network, and Dr. Jamila Perritt, President & CEO of Physicians for Reproductive Health called this "an attack on immigrant communities, who already have a hard time accessing the care they need because of harmful abortion bans and the increased risk of criminalization they face based on their immigration status."

PRH President & CEO Dr. Jamila Perritt told Mother Jones that President Trump’s February executive order on in vitro fertilization “does not seem to have any meaningful impact on access to fertility treatments.” The order’s intentionally gendered language raises concerns that it will deepen discrimination in fertility care access, effectively deciding who is deemed worthy of care.

Issue Brief on Dobbs ’ Erosion of the Health Care Workforce
[link removed] [[link removed]]
As we near the three year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, our issue brief [[link removed]] —created in partnership with the National Partnership for Women and Families—remains a timely resource documenting the harms to both providers and patients as they navigate the climate of fear, confusion, and the continuously shifting legal landscape for abortion access.
Why this matters: We are losing clinicians fast. People are leaving states with abortion bans. Medical students and residents choose not to train or practice in places where they can't provide evidence-based care. Dobbs and dangerous abortion bans are exacerbating what was already an urgent, dire shortage of providers.
