Today is Wear Orange Day -- and we wanted to take a moment to remind you why today is so important.

When we wear orange, we’re raising awareness of the impact of gun violence every day on our children and our communities. We wear orange to remember the life of Hadiya Pendleton, a fifteen-year-old girl lost to gun violence, and the many other people we have lost to these senseless killings.

And we wear orange to bring about change.

We’re demanding that Congress take action now to pass common-sense gun legislation, to put a stop to the gun violence epidemic in our country, and end the influence of the NRA on our politics. Add your name if you agree!

Colin fights every day in Congress for the kind of common-sense gun reforms we need to reduce the epidemic of gun violence in this country. He understands the importance of background checks, “red flag” gun laws, and ensuring that weapons of war are off our streets. But he also understands why we haven’t made progress on gun safety in our country: corrupt NRA lobbyists and special interest money are protecting the status quo at the expense of innocent lives.
