Colin and our team are taking every precautionary step to protect ourselves and our families and stop the spread of this virus. To find out what you can do to stay healthy, check out the CDC’s website for the most up-to-date information. Additionally, if you or a loved one are a member of our veteran community, we want to make sure you saw news on Colin’s work to secure a new VA hospital in North Texas.
We know these are tough times for so many families, but we appreciate you staying with us.
Hi John,
Today is Wear Orange Day -- and we wanted to take a moment to remind you why today is so important.
When we wear orange, we’re raising awareness of the impact of gun violence every day on our children and our communities. We wear orange to remember the life of Hadiya Pendleton, a fifteen-year-old girl lost to gun violence, and the many other people we have lost to these senseless killings.
And we wear orange to bring about change.
We’re demanding that Congress take action now to pass common-sense gun legislation, to put a stop to the gun violence epidemic in our country, and end the influence of the NRA on our politics. Add your name if you agree >>
Colin fights every day in Congress for the kind of common-sense gun reforms we need to reduce the epidemic of gun violence in this country. He understands the importance of background checks, “red flag” gun laws, and ensuring that weapons of war are off our streets. But he also understands why we haven’t made progress on gun safety in our country: corrupt NRA lobbyists and special interest money are protecting the status quo at the expense of innocent lives.
That’s why we’re calling on Congress to stand up to the NRA’s influence and pass gun safety legislation. We need to make sure deaths like Hadiya’s never happen again -- and we need you to be a part of that change.
Hadiya should still be alive today. We use this day to fight for her memory and the memory of everyone we’ve lost to gun violence -- and we will fight for the change we need to ensure we keep our children and our communities safe.
Thank you for fighting with us.
