Two weeks ago: Donald Trump signed an illegal executive order dismantling the Department of Education to attack public education and working families nationwide.
Last week: Jahana offered the Department of Education Protection Act for a vote on the House Floor, which would protect the functions, powers, and employees of the Department of Education.

The Department of Education is responsible for protecting the civil rights of students, supporting students from low-income backgrounds, and developing and preparing educators for the classroom. The department also collects and analyzes statistics on enrollment, staffing, and crime in schools, as well as manages the $1.6 trillion Federal Student Aid program.
Dismantling this department and diverting the federal funding used to support education to hand out tax breaks to billionaires will be detrimental to local communities and will likely bring disruptions that have parents concerned.
Jahana is doing everything she can to protect the Department of Education, but this work puts Jahana directly in opposition to the MAGA agenda. This means we can almost guarantee they will spend BIG to unseat her and expand their historically narrow majority in the House.
