The 19th Amendment was ratified 99 years ago yesterday granting women the right to vote. That was just the starting point. I come from a long line of strong women who’ve rolled up their sleeves to get the job done. They weren’t afraid to get a little dirty, and neither am I – that’s why I’m running for Congress. But when it comes to women’s rights, women’s equality, and women’s bodies, Republicans in Congress and the woman-degrader-in-chief Donald Trump will play as dirty as they possibly can to set women back decades. It’s time this District had someone who wasn’t afraid to get a little dirty fighting to uphold the progress women have made and will continue to make. I’ve never backed down from a challenge, and folks, I’m not backing down. Let’s push forward. I’m rolling up my sleeves, will you join me in continuing to fight for women’s equality so future generations can enjoy the freedoms previous generations fought so hard to achieve? Forward we march!
