Become a lifeguard with Active Nottingham
NPLQ Course - August 2025

Are you interested in training to become a lifeguard - we can help!

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the most awarded in the UK & Ireland and is internationally recognised, More than 40,000 pool lifeguards qualify with the RLSS UK every year, and there are currently more than 80,000 pool lifeguards qualified in the NPLQ - 95% of all UK pool lifeguards.

The next course is due to take place at Harvey Hadden Sports Village on *4-8 August 2025* for 5 days (all 5 days must be attended).

*_Course requirements:_*
Every candidate attending an NPLQ course must be 16 years old or above at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:


* Jump/dive into deep water 
* Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds 
* Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water 
* Tread water for 30 seconds 
* Surface dive to the floor of the pool 
* Climb out unaided without a ladder/steps and where the pool design permits.

Working hours available: Monday – Friday 4-6.30pm and weekends 8am-1pm, delivering swim lessons (We are looking for people to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week)
