😬Trump just barred climate scientists from contributing to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change … someone call George Orwell.

John, this attack is just one in a line of many in a Trump admin hell-bent on denying reality.
If we want to stop Trump’s assault on science, we need to support the climate champions who are in Congress now and pave the path to elect even more in 2026. And we can’t do it without your help, John! Can we count on your contribution to elect leaders who will stand up for science? [[link removed]]

This Trump administration is shaping up to be worse than the last time around. In his first term, Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords – just like he did this time. What’s new in Trump 2.0 is that this time, they’re not even allowing scientists to do their jobs.
It would be difficult to overstate the repercussions of preventing scientists from participating in the IPCC. It is the backbone of global climate science; its reports are produced by thousands of scientists and are used by policymakers around the world.
NASA’s chief scientist was scheduled to co-chair the international meeting, but with the Trump administration’s stop-work order, the panel’s work is now in limbo. Instead of leading on the global stage, the United States is falling behind and dragging the rest of the world with it.
It doesn’t have to be like this. While Trump has been doing his best to strip away environmental protections, our SEEC members have been fighting back. But in order to win, we need to elect a new slate of climate champions to Congress who will fight for our environment in 2026. Will you send a donation to SEEC PAC so that we can have an America that believes in science again? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
