Have you heard the news, John?

Last week, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced plans to attack dozens of safeguards protecting you from pollution. But that’s not all. Now he’s preparing to eliminate EPA’s Office of Research and Development – firing over 1,000 scientists responsible for researching pollution, toxic chemicals and other threats to our planet.

He celebrated his announcement, calling it “the day the Green New Scam ends…”

But we’re calling it what it is: the biggest increase in pollution in decades.

EDF vigorously opposes Administrator Zeldin’s unlawful attack on public health. We will defend the life-saving protections we’ve fought so hard for.

Prefer to read? We can help with that too:

What’s at risk?
Administrator Zeldin is promising to undo scores of health and climate safety standards, pulling from a wish-list by lobbyists who want to make it easier to pollute our air and water. Among the rules under attack are:

arrow bullet The Mercury and Air Toxics standards that protect children’s developing brains;

arrow bullet The foundational determination that climate pollution endangers our health and the basis for limits on climate pollution from tailpipes, smokestacks and industrial sources;

arrow bullet Common sense limits on the methane pollution from oil and gas development;

arrow bullet The Good Neighbor Rule, which protects Americans from air pollution from other states; and

arrow bullet Standards that keep drinking water clean.

How can I help?
EPA is required by law to go through a public process to repeal these protections. That means members like you will have opportunities to raise your voice demanding safeguards that will protect our air, water and health from pollution.

It’s a long road ahead, but with your help we’ll be ready to act. Make sure your voice is heard. You can start by learning the facts so you can be prepared to defend your community from health-harming pollution.
