What’s at risk?
Administrator Zeldin is promising to undo scores of health and climate safety standards, pulling from a wish-list by lobbyists who want to make it easier to pollute our air and water. Among the rules under attack are:
The Mercury and Air Toxics standards that protect children’s developing brains;
The foundational determination that climate pollution endangers our health and the basis for limits on climate pollution from tailpipes, smokestacks and industrial sources;
Common sense limits on the methane pollution from oil and gas development;
The Good Neighbor Rule, which protects Americans from air pollution from other states; and
Standards that keep drinking water clean.
How can I help?
EPA is required by law to go through a public process to repeal these protections. That means members like you will have opportunities to raise your voice demanding safeguards that will protect our air, water and health from pollution.
It’s a long road ahead, but with your help we’ll be ready to act. Make sure your voice is heard. You can start by learning the facts so you can be prepared to defend your community from health-harming pollution.
Thank you,
