Hello,

Welcome to my latest e-newsletter. Here's this week's update on some of my recent activities in Cheadle and in Parliament.
------------------------------------------------------------

Visit Your Pharmacy First!

Pharmacies play a vital role in our communities and it was interesting to hear from the team at Pharmacy One in Heald Green about the new pharmacy contract, which will allow them to carry out more consultations and take pressure off GPs. If you have an issue which you would normally see your GP about, it can sometimes be better to visit your pharmacy first!

Flooding Issues

Homes and businesses in Bramhall, Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme have been devastated by the flooding which has occurred over the past few weeks. As well as visiting residents and businesses affected, I have been in contact with the Council who are commissioning an independent review and holding a series of drop-in events for residents. More details and information about support can be found here ([link removed]) .

Funding Boost for Stepping Hill

It was a pleasure to welcome Health Minister Chris Skidmore MP to Stepping Hill Hospital, to see how the £30.6 million funding boost announced by the Prime Minister will benefit us here. This money will fund a new Emergency Care Campus Development, including an Urgent Treatment Centre, GP assessment unit and Planned Investigation Unit.
------------------------------------------------------------

Cheadle Mosque Open Day

The annual open day at Cheadle Mosque is always buzzing with community spirit and it was great to join dignitaries such as Mayor Laura Booth in speaking to the crowds who gathered and seeing families enjoying the range of activities on offer. A huge thanks to all at the Mosque for organising another brilliant open day and here's to many more!
------------------------------------------------------------

Longley Lane Recycling Centre

Understandably, not many of us think about what happens to our waste once it's been collected, but I got to see the process first hand when I visited the recycling centre at Longley Lane. I was surprised to learn that despite it seeming simple we're often not putting things in the right recycling bin, so for more guidance on how to recycle properly, visit recycleforgreatermanchester.com ([link removed]) .
------------------------------------------------------------

'Holiday At Home' in Bramhall

The location for this year's summer holiday was the sunny climes of Bramhall for guests at the United Reform Church, who gathered for three days of activities including party games, a concert and a visit to Tatton Park. Joining guests for the games, it was wonderful to see people who wouldn't otherwise have the chance to go away on holiday enjoying a 'community' holiday instead!

Crime Survey

I know crime is a key concern for many constituents, and I was pleased to see the new Prime Minister, Boris Johnson MP, responding to this concern by announcing the recruitment of 20,000 new Police Officers. I recently spent a shift with GMP to better understand the challenges they face and I want to hear directly from you too. To let me know your views, you can take part in my survey her ([link removed]) e ([link removed]) .
------------------------------------------------------------

My Views

In addition to regular casework correspondence, I receive a number of campaign emails and postcards each month regarding various topics. While I always prefer to get back to people directly in the first instance, each month I publish these views on my website. You can read these here ([link removed]) .
------------------------------------------------------------
Surgeries

I hold regular surgeries both at my office in Cheadle Hulme and around the constituency. If you would like an appointment then please do get in touch via the details below and let me know the issues you'd like assistance with. It may be possible that I can help you right away.
------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for taking the time to read my latest e-newsletter. As ever, if there are any issues you'd like to raise with me then please do get in touch.

Best Wishes,
