Pharmacies play a vital role in our communities and it was interesting to hear from the team at Pharmacy One in Heald Green about the new pharmacy contract, which will allow them to carry out more consultations and take pressure off GPs. If you have an issue which you would normally see your GP about, it can sometimes be better to visit your pharmacy first!

It was a pleasure to welcome Health Minister Chris Skidmore MP to Stepping Hill Hospital, to see how the £30.6 million funding boost announced by the Prime Minister will benefit us here. This money will fund a new Emergency Care Campus Development, including an Urgent Treatment Centre, GP assessment unit and Planned Investigation Unit.

Understandably, not many of us think about what happens to our waste once it's been collected, but I got to see the process first hand when I visited the recycling centre at Longley Lane.
