Since Trump took office, each headline and illegal action has been more outrageous than the last.
All this noise is meant to distract us from the real plan: dismantle the core functions of the federal government, then loot and privatize it. This is unacceptable, illegal, and totally out of the ordinary. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary action.

Congress: Stop Musk-Trump
Elon Musk and Donald Trump are ransacking the federal government. They have scrubbed websites of critical health and climate data, shut down key programs like the environmental justice divisions of the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice, and pressured federal government workers to resign, including those charged with ensuring safe food and clean water.
Democrats are in the minority in both the House and the Senate, but Congress is not powerless to slow down this runaway train of destruction – particularly in the Senate. Republicans also need to be pressured to reject these unprecedented actions.
Business as usual should not continue while Musk and Trump wreak havoc on our institutions. Instead of continuing to vote to advance Trump’s cabinet nominees and agreeing to procedural motions put forward by leadership, legislators should stand up and use every tool at their disposal to slow the Musk-Trump assault on core government functions.

These executive actions come just as Congress is about to consider legislation that would provide massive tax cuts for billionaires, the super wealthy, and large corporations, while gutting programs that benefit ordinary people — for safe food and clean water. Republicans have a slim majority in the House. If we raise our voices, we can block this agenda — but our members of Congress need to hear from all of us.

What can Congress do?
We’re joining our friends at Indivisible and calling on members of Congress to use every tool in their toolbox to gum up the works. Business as usual cannot proceed as long as Musk-Trump continue to take unprecedented and illegal actions. Senators can use procedural moves to slow down the process, like requiring all senators to be present in order to move business forward.
House members can also use their offices to communicate what is happening to the American people — they can go on television, radio, and social media to convey the clear message that Musk and Trump are destroying basic government functions and attempting to loot and privatize the government. This is a smash and grab operation that must be stopped.
Together, we can stop the dismantling of the government, but we need our members of Congress to fight like it matters. They need to hear from all of us.
