John, you can feel it in the air – our entire country is crying out against hundreds of years of systemic racial oppression that has come to a head. It is a reaction to the systematic racism, discrimination, daily racial microaggressions, and the prejudiced response to their race as nothing more than a threat that deserves violent submission. Collectively we are all shouting, "we can't breathe."

The National Organization for Women stands with our sisters and brothers around the nation in protest against the racist police that murdered George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless other black lives.

We hear, see, acknowledge, and experience the cries of pain and anger in the US and around the world. NOW is committed to diversifying our movement and working toward a world where all people have full access, opportunities, equality, and righteous dignity. Racial justice is a feminist issue and we will stop at nothing to love and protect one another.

In solidarity,
Toni Van Pelt
