Quitting tobacco products of any kind is extremely difficult and nicotine withdrawal can make people feel heightened stress and irritability, so be patient and remember that helping someone stay positive, focused, and distracted can make a huge difference.

San Francisco, California: The San Francisco City Attorney announced that his office secured a $250,000 judgment that requires two smoke shop owners to surrender all illegal flavored tobacco products. The City’s lawsuit alleged the owners violated state and local laws by operating without a tobacco permit in San Francisco and selling illegal flavored tobacco products at 11 stores in the Bay Area.

New York: A bill was introduced that would prohibit the sale of disposable e-cigarettes.

Illinois: HB 3191 would impose a tax on e-cigarettes containing nicotine at the rate of $2.98 per e-cigarette. These funds would be put towards the Youth Protection and Nicotine Accountability Fund, which would be used to fund public health initiatives, tobacco prevention programs, and youth-focused educational campaigns aimed at reducing nicotine consumption.
