Happy Valentine’s Day! Hopefully, you’re spending the day with
people you care about—or at least getting in some range time.

Today’s main YOUTUBE SHORT is a perfect example of why FIREARM
RETENTION IS CRITICAL. A man openly carrying a gun in his back pocket
walks into a gas station, has his firearm stolen, then confronts the
thief outside and gets shot. If you open carry, securing your firearm
is a must. Holsters come with different levels of retention—some
rely on friction, while others have locking mechanisms to prevent
grabs. AT A MINIMUM, AN OPEN-CARRY HOLSTER SHOULD HAVE A RETENTION
DEVICE THAT REQUIRES A DELIBERATE ACTION TO RELEASE THE FIREARM. If
your gun is just sitting in a pocket or loose holster, you're asking
for trouble. Stay smart, stay secure—or just carry concealed.
