Happy Valentine’s Day! Hopefully, you’re spending the day with people you care about—or at least getting in some range time.
Today’s main YouTube Short is a perfect example of why firearm retention is critical. A man openly carrying a gun in his back pocket walks into a gas station, has his firearm stolen, then confronts the thief outside and gets shot. If you open carry, securing your firearm is a must. Holsters come with different levels of retention—some rely on friction, while others have locking mechanisms to prevent grabs. At a minimum, an open-carry holster should have a retention device that requires a deliberate action to release the firearm. If your gun is just sitting in a pocket or loose holster, you're asking for trouble. Stay smart, stay secure—or just carry concealed.
I also uploaded a new SHOT Show Short featuring Holosun’s Thermal Pistol Optic, DSP-TH. It’s some pretty cool tech—not sure if I need it, but I definitely want it.
Check out the stories and videos, and let me know—what’s your stance on open carry vs. concealed carry? And would you ever run a thermal optic on a pistol?
