Grand Sponsor REGISTER Arlington Enters Phase One Arlington and the rest of Northern Virginia entered Phase One of Forward Virginia today. The Chamber has been working to ensure that Arlington’s businesses have the best opportunity for success in reopening. One important area is outdoor dining because restaurants will have to operate under strict capacity limits to ensure distancing between tables. The Chamber championed Arlington taking a flexible approach to allowing restaurants to expand their outdoor seating areas. The County government responded, establishing Temporary Outdoor Seating Areas, a fee-free administrative approval for restaurants to add outdoor tables. Arlington County staff will join the Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. to describe how TOSAs work and to take our questions on these, and other tools to help businesses reopen. READ MORE Chamber Encourages Streamlined Small Cell Deployment Process Small wireless facilities can transform Arlington’s digital infrastructure and the Chamber was an early advocate for Arlington to take a proactive approach on small cells. Now, telecommunications providers are working with Arlington County to deploy this technology, including agreeing on a standard facility design. The Chamber encouraged Arlington County to streamline the small cell permitting and deployment process, including allowing providers for file location permits during a technology pilot phase, to avoid delays in enhancing Arlington's digital infrastructure.
