Arlington and the rest of Northern Virginia entered Phase One of Forward Virginia today. The Chamber has been working to ensure that Arlington’s businesses have the best opportunity for success in reopening. One important area is outdoor dining because restaurants will have to operate under strict capacity limits to ensure distancing between tables. The Chamber championed Arlington taking a flexible approach to allowing restaurants to expand their outdoor seating areas.

Small wireless facilities can transform Arlington’s digital infrastructure and the Chamber was an early advocate for Arlington to take a proactive approach on small cells. Now, telecommunications providers are working with Arlington County to deploy this technology, including agreeing on a standard facility design. The Chamber encouraged Arlington County to streamline the small cell permitting and deployment process, including allowing providers for file location permits during a technology pilot phase, to avoid delays in enhancing Arlington's digital infrastructure.

The Rosslyn Ready initiative is a neighborhood-wide and coordinated re-entry effort between the BID, property owners, commercial tenants, and retailers to ensure everyone has what they need to be prepared to return to the neighborhood. The Rosslyn BID is also making these resources available to those outside of the BID boundaries.
Resources Include:
- Digital resources and information related to space management and workplace culture
- Restaurant information related to capital management, operational adjustments (e.g., seating spacing, cleaning, delivery/pickup, etc.) as well as access to messaging and communications for their customers (e.g., downloadable signage)
- Cleaning guide for the BID in maintaining our public areas as well as for use by our commercial and retail tenants
- Advisement on employment law and HR matters
