Dear friend,

From the moment our people were brought to these shores, Black people have been disadvantaged. We fought battles to have a seat at the table — but now, House Republicans are pushing forward an anti-Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion regime on the American people.

But they won’t say the quiet part out loud: their crusade against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is more about rolling back our hard-fought civil rights than it is about fairness.

First, it was Vice President Kamala Harris. Then, it was government employees. Now, Republicans have even taken issue with our Black military members and airplane pilots. Just recently, Sec. Hegseth withdrew Army recruiters from the nation’s top Black engineering event.

I’m ready to call it for what it is: anti-Blackness and anti-American.

Whether it’s rolling back civil-rights era protections or pushing Black Americans out of the military, House Republicans are going all in on the most hateful political agenda since the civil rights movement began.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are about ensuring access for all — a core American value. And don’t be mistaken: this isn’t just about Black Americans. This is about regressing us to a time when women, LGTBQ+ people, and all communities of color were discriminated against and given fewer opportunities than their counterparts.

I’ll be the first to say it. We will not go back.

The CBC and I stand ready to end the war being waged on the rights and freedoms of Black Americans. It’s up to us to stop the GOP march to undo the Civil Rights era.

Will you chip in today and help me stop House Republicans from retreating from our civil rights? [[link removed]]

STOP THE ANTI-DEI CRUSADE → [[link removed]]

I won’t let them erase our history.
